The construction product approvals that we offer are assessed in a number of different ways:

• Declaration of conformity - CE marking as covered in the Construction Products Directive
• European Technical Approval (ETA) - which can either be against an existing European Technical Approval Guideline (ETAG) or using the Common Understanding Assessment Protocol (CUAP);
• Declaration of conformity against a harmonised product standard (EN)

The Construction Products Directive is in the process of review. When complete the directive will become a regulation known as the CPR.
Certification of products within the CERTALARM schemes is carried out by notified bodies. The boards are made up of experts representing all stakeholders of the industry with no single interest predominating. They include clients, manufacturers, regulators, contractors, engineers, designers, users and researchers.
The certified product will carry both the CE Mark and the CERTALARM Quality Mark.
